What's IBM doing with POWER and IBM i

We will review IBM's Winter and Spring announcements for the POWER servers and IBM i Operating System. What are the POWER7 servers, what can they run, how do you manage them, and what's in IBM i 7.1. We'll look at any enhancements IBM has made in the last few months and what those announcements mean for our platform. There are new servers, new SAN attachment options, exciting new DB2 features, major enhancements to RPG, as well as new system management functions..

About Kendall:

Kendall Kinnear has over 35 years of experience on the IBM midrange, from the System/3 through the System/34 and System/38, to the current Power System server. He brings substantial experience from his tenure at companies like IBM, EDS, StorageTek, and Jack Henry and Associates. He has been a Systems Programmer, Application Designer, educator, and speaker. Kendall is currently employed as a Senior Systems Architect at KS2 Technologies, Inc., in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex.
