Simplify development of rich Web 2.0 applications on IBM i

2009-06-29, Education, WebMaster

IBM's newest business language, EGL, is transforming the way IBM i shops are developing and modernizing applications today. With EGL and its new Web 2.0 capabilities, developers of all backgrounds have the ability to build rich, modern Web 2.0 business applications without needing to learn a lot of complex technologies (like JavaScript, Ajax, JSON, etc). Because EGL is fully extensible, you can incorporate other open source and third-party widgets (such as those provided by Dojo and Google) and create a user experience that blows away what you can do with other technologies.

Those who attended this session learned: 1) how to deploy EGL in your System i environment. 2) how EGL stacks up against PHP from a development perspective (you may be surprised by what you learn!), and 3) what options are available from IBM for modernizing your existing user interfaces by migrating to EGL.
