Web Technologies and Development Tools on the iSeries

2006-03-24, Meetings, Robert Arce,

Need to develop a Web application that accesses data from your iSeries and invokes RPG and COBOL programs? Confused about the various Web technologies available and where each one fits into the picture? Then this session is for you! In this session Don will start off with an introduction to the various Web technologies and the corresponding Web development tools that are part of WebSphere Development Studio Client (WDSc) and will finish off with a live demo of building a dynamic Web application that access data from an iSeries and calls an RPG program for running business logic.

WDSc is an integrated development environment for RPG and COBOL development ("RSE"), Web development, XML, Java and WebFacing and is included with WebSphere Development Studio ("the PRG compiler").
